Trekking on the south face of Annapurna On this 11 day trip, we get to know the Manaslu and Annapurna massif in an original way. We begin the journey in the town of Gorkha, the cradle of the Nepalese monarchy, where we will see some interesting palaces and temples. We will travel westwards to Tarkughat an important bazaar for the Gurung people. After crossing the abundant River Margsyandi we start to go up to the south flank of the Annapurna massif in the direction of Lamjung Himal. Alongside this mountain is the Namun Pass, 5,500 m high, which is an unrivalled viewing point for Manaslu, Peak 29, Himalchuli, Bhaudda, etc. We will descend to the village of Sikles, the biggest settlement of the Gurung people. Two more days of walking bring us to Pokhara, the end point of this trek. |
