Announcement from The Tourism Council of Bhutan regarding re-opening from September 23, 2022:
A COVID-19 vaccination certificate is not required for adults or children to enter Bhutan as of September 23, 2022 allowing unvaccinated traveler as well. However, all travelers to Bhutan (12 years of age and above) may be subjected to RT-PCR testing at the official points of entry or at the workplace to continue COVID-19 surveillance for new variations. If travelers test positive for COVID-19, they must remain in quarantine at their preferred hotel until they test negative. All the costs must be borne by the traveler paying for the extra nights of quarantine and the PCR testing. The SDF will be waived off throughout the quarantine period only.
While applying Bhutan visa, Tourism Council of Bhutan requires high resolution color passport copies along with color passport size image and travel insurance document as well. Furthermore, we will require following information;
- Marital Status
- Birth Certificate Registration Number
- Telephone Number
- Occupation
- Residential Address
However, Tourism Council of Bhutan has not specified about amount coverage and types of coverage.
