On Wednesday morning (29 Oct, 2025), an Altitude Air helicopter crash-landed in Lobuche, near the Everest region, while on a rescue mission. The Airbus B3 helicopter, piloted by instructor Captain Bibek Khadka, was attempting to land when the incident occurred.
The helicopter had taken off from Lukla without passengers and was en route to assist tourists stranded in Lobuche due to heavy snowfall. Eyewitnesses and police reports confirmed that the aircraft toppled over on the snow-covered helipad but did not catch fire. No casualties were reported, and Captain Khadka is safe.
Authorities and Altitude Air are investigating the incident further.
